If Carl Pei leaves OnePlus, the position to be filled by Emily Dai

OnePlus is the leading smartphone brand not only in China but also across the world. With every smartphone launch, it seems that the smartphone brand leaves its competitors in the dust. The smartphone brand is considered the most famous and powerful android phone in the market.

The company has become what it is today only because of two men’s contributions and expertise, Carl Pei and Pete Lau. They both founded the OnePlus in the year 2013 and have been successfully running the company as its co-founder and CEO, respectively. But the co-founder, Carl Pei, has now reportedly exited the smartphone manufacturing company.

The news might come as a surprise for everyone because Carl is the general public figure of OnePlus, especially in its western market. Be it product launches, press conferences, or interviews; the guy is always there representing the organization,

A Redditor, namely JonSigur, shared an internal memo that detailed the OnePlus leadership and stated the co-founder’s exit from the company.

In the report, the co-founder’s name was replaced by Carl Pei to Emily Dai. Ms. Dai is the CEO of India Regional. She will directly report to Pete Lau.

According to sources, Carl Pei will be replaced by Emily Dai, which confirms the news. However, as to where Mr. Pei is headed is not yet known. Reports claim that he will be heading his own new venture. As to what the new company is like is not know as of now. But sources claim that the new company by Carl Pei will be related to BBK Electronics.

Carl Pei’s exit from the company that he co-founded comes as a shock. As for OnePlus to lose a public figure like him will surely result in some setbacks. But since the company did not comment on this yet, hints that the smartphone manufacturer was ready for this outcome. But, Carl Pei was more like the face of OnePlus in the Western Market. The company lost huge assets and will have to work hard on getting things in order.
