Jailer 2
With the release of the Nelson-directed picture Jailer in 2023, Rajinikanth made history as the movie went on to become one of the biggest grossing Tamil cinema productions. The Jailer sequel has been the subject of numerous rumours over the past few months. Since the August release of Jailer last year, Nelson has been working on Jailer 2, according to independent sources we contacted.
Sources close to the development say that the initial draft of Jailer 2 is locked and that the team is happy with Nelson’s concept crack. Nelson is committed to delving more into Rajinikanth’s role as Tiger, also known as Muthuvel Pandian, and he has written a flawless follow-up to move the narrative along. Following Rajinikanth and Sun Pictures’ approval of his plan, Nelson is now scheduled to begin pre-production work in June 2024, according to a source.
Hukum or Jailer 2: Nelson muses over two titles
The insider went on to say that when Rajinikanth finishes filming Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Thalaivar 171, the plan is to start shooting the movie before the end of the year. The insider stated, “Jailer 2 will release by the end of this year or early 2025, depending on how long Lokesh Kanagaraj takes to complete his next film with Rajinikanth.
The film’s working title is Hukum, a term that became associated with Rajinikanth following the release of Jailer.” The majority of the members lean toward the title Hukum, out of the two that the creators are considering, Jailer 2.
Rajinikanth, meantime, has completed filming the trailer for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s movie, which will be released within the next ten days. Commencing in May/June 2024, the Lokesh Kanagaraj film is hailed as the most thrilling collaboration in Tamil cinema history.
