Tecno has launched its Camon 16 smartphone in India. This smartphone is quite similar to the Tecno Camon 16 Premier which was introduced earlier globally. But the Indian one is slightly stripped down if we compare both the smartphones. The key highlight of the Tecno Camon 16 is its 64-megapixel quad rear camera setup. Let’s get into the specifications of this newly launched smartphone.
The Tecno Camon 16 runs on HiOS 7.0 which is based on the Android 10 OS and is powered by the MediaTek Helio G79 SoC chipset. Regarding the display, this phone offers a 6.8-inch HD+ hole-punch display with an 89.1 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Tecno Camon 16 has a rear-mounted physical fingerprint scanner and it comes in two different color variants: Cloud White and Purist Blue.
The MediaTek Helio G79 SoC of this phone is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. Coming to the camera section, this phone features a quad-rear camera setup which includes a 64-megapixel main camera, 2-megapixel depth of field sensor, 2-megapixel macro lens, and a final AI lens (supported by an AI LED flash). This camera module is pretty much to the Tecno Camon 16 Premier. For the selfies and video calling, its phone offers a 16MP selfie snapper at the front. There are a lot of key features inside the rear camera module such as auto eye focusing, video bokeh, 2K QHD video support, and pro photography modes such as Night Portrait, Super Night Shot, Macro, Body-shaping, 10x Zoom, Slow Motion, and many more.
In terms of the battery, the Tecno Camon 16 is fueled by a decent 5,000mAH battery with the support of 18W fast charging. The company claims that the battery of this phone is touted to provide a standby time of 29 days, 34 hours calling time, 16 hours Web browsing, 22 hours of video playback, 15 hours of game playing, and 180 hours of music playback, and most importantly, this phone fully charges in approximately two hours.
Coming to the pricing and availability, the Tecno Camon 16 will be available first during Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale starting October 16 at a price tag of Rs. 10,999 (4GB/64GB).
I think Tecno has chosen the features for the Tecno Camon 16 well esp because the Helio G powered gaming support as it will be a bonus for mobile gamers as well. The camera is also a plus at this price point.
