Apple Watch Series 4 to missout watchOS 11 update: Rumors

Apple Watch Series 5 and later are expected to support watchOS 11, according to iPhonesoft.fr. It implies that watchOS 10 will be the highest version of the Apple Watch Series 4 released in 2018.

Not bad, given that watchOS 8.8.1 was the highest point reached by the Apple Watch Series 3. To clarify, the issue with the Apple Watch Series 3 did not stem from Apple’s decision to stop offering software upgrades for the device years after its launch.

Apple Watch Series 4 to missout watchOS 11 update: Rumors

The Apple Watch Series 4 made its debut in 2018 alongside the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. It featured the first-ever redesign of the watch, a bigger display, twice as much storage, Fall Detection, and an ECG capability.

The iPhone X was no longer supported by iOS 17, however, iOS 18 is expected to keep compatibility with all of the previous generations. At WWDC on June 10, Apple is anticipated to provide a sneak peek at watchOS 11, iOS 18, and other upcoming software improvements. The public will most likely be able to get the changes in the fall.

WWDC is renowned for its significant software releases, and this year won’t be any different. Major improvements to macOS, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and iPadOS 18 are all anticipated for iOS 18.

iOS 18 will likely incorporate certain design elements from visionOS, among other modifications. Most likely, everyone will have access to these changes in the fall. Additionally, as it did with the Vision Pro last year, Apple may reveal new hardware at the event. There is a possibility that they will reveal an updated version of the AirPods.
