The newest book-style folding device from the brand, the Vivo X Fold 3, was launched on March 26 in China. An industry insider claims that India will also see the release of the new Vivo X Fold 3. Moreover, it will be the “industry’s slimmest foldable.”
Vivo X Fold 3 specifications and pricing
Vivo’s newest foldable smartphone will run on the most recent Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and probably have a sizable 5,500mAh battery.
With a weight of only 219g, the Vivo X Fold3 is the lightest horizontally inwards folding phone (the Honor V Purse is lighter at 214g, but it folds outwards and lacks a second display). Compared to several bar phones, such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra (232g), iPhone 15 Pro Max (221g), and foldable like the Galaxy Z Fold5 (253g), this weighs less. The X Fold2 itself weighed 279g and measured 12.9mm when folded. The 10.2mm drop is made by the X Fold3.
A 50MP ultra wide-angle (119°) module with a Samsung JN1 (1/2.76″) lens and an OV64B sensor (1/2″) makes up the main camera, which is a 64MP 3x telephoto module. Two 32MP (1/3.6″) sensors are used in the selfie cameras of Vivo X Fold 3.
The 50MP “ultra-sensing” main camera, which has an f/1.68 lens with OIS and a 1/1.3″ OmniVision OV50H sensor, provides data to the imaging chip. Compared to the 1/1.49″ Sony IMX866v that featured in the X Fold2, this sensor is larger and slightly heavier.
With a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the display’s inner screen has a diagonal measurement of 8.03 inches. Its maximum local peak brightness of 4,500 nits is achieved using Samsung E7 material. The 6.53-inch cover display has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a resolution of 1172 x 2748 pixels, and a maximum brightness of 4,500 nits.
The 16GB and 512GB versions of the Vivo X Fold3 Pro retail for $1,385/€1,275/₵117,00, with a starting price of CNY 10,000. The 16GB/1TB top model costs CNY 11,000, making it the most expensive. Vivo’s Chinese store will start selling the phones at the end of the month.
