Match 22 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 will feature a match of two hungry teams as Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Kings XI Punjab.
Both teams are coming off disappointing losses and will desperately like to get things back on track.
SRH is coming off a disappointing loss against MI by 34 runs. KXIP is also coming off a huge loss against CSK. Both the teams would look forward to compensating for the heavy net run rate loss faced due to those losses as well.
Kings XI Punjab
KXIP has had an extremely disappointing IPL. The fact that their net run rate is positive despite being at last place goes to show the nature of their losses. Their bowling primarily has let them down.
Except for Mohammed Shami and Ravi Bishnoi, everybody else seems to be struggling. They did a good thing by calling Chis Jordan back in place of Jimmy Neesham as a solid bowler. However, he is leaking runs as well. KXIP may consider replacing him with Hardus Viljoen. Also, there hasn’t been any update as such on Murugan Ashwin, however, if he’s fit, he should be brought in instead of Harpreet Brar.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH is coming off a disappointing loss against Mumbai Indians. They bowled well keeping in mind the match being in Sharjah. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, and Natarajan were phenomenal. However, Siddharth Kaul, who is a good T20 bowler, went for runs.
The problem for them is the middle-order. Even though youngsters Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, and Abdul Samad have proved that they can deal against experienced opposition, they cannot expect them to always deliver. Kane Williamson will have to lead them.
Fantasy XI team
KL RAHUL (11) (C) – Rahul has been extremely consistent in this IPL with a fifty and a century. He has been a run machine and will be our captain.
DAVID WARNER (10.5) (VC) – David Warner has been in phenomenal form and has been consistent as well. He’ll be my vice-captain.
MAYANK AGARWAL (9.5) – Agarwal is probably in the best purple patch of his life.
MANDEEP SINGH (8) – The veteran made his first appearance in the last match. He was promoted to number 3 and looked really good.
PRIYAM GARG (8) – The youngster has proved that he can play quick even if the top-order collapses.
ABHISHEK SHARMA (8) – Abhishek Sharma can really add quickfire runs at the bottom. He can bowl well and can give you at least two overs.
NICHOLAS POORAN (9) – Pooran has looked really great. He hasn’t scored big but knows his role on the side and does that effectively.
JOHNNY BAIRSTOW (9.5) – Bairstow has been in great form as well. He has adapted an anchor role and thus scores big.
MANISH PANDEY (9) – Manish Pandey has been in great form and has been given a new role of leading the middle-order.
MOHD. SHAMI (9) – Shami looked phenomenal with his spell where he picked up 3 wickets in the first match and bowled well in the second as well.
RAVI BISNOI (8) – Bishnoi impressed everyone with his dynamic leg-spin.
PREDICTION
KXIP has been looking great but is making small tactical errors. It is expected of them to rectify those and bounce back strongly. SRH, on the other hand, cannot necessarily make more changes. At the most, they can have Mohammed Nabi replacing Kane Williamson. However, their current players will have to step up their game. KXIP will therefore defeat SRH.
