After the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series, the South-Korean tech giant is already working on its next flagship series, which will be the Samsung Galaxy S21 (possibly named Galaxy S30). Now according to some reports by the Korean outlet TheElec, this upcoming flagship from Samsung will not sport an under-display camera, due to the low production yield of the technology. ZTE Axon was the first smartphone to feature this camera technology. Now, Realme is also working n this under-display camera technology (as per the reports).

Samsung was already aiming to sport this technology on the Galaxy Z Fold2. But the company has ultimately missed the deployment of the tech on the 2021 Galaxy S series. Some reports are also saying that Samsung does not want to launch a technology that will be compromised by its users later. The company wants to hold its reputation and reportedly working on a better solution for the under-display camera that won’t compromise as much on image quality as current technology.

As per the reports, Samsung will be ready with this under-display camera technology for the second half of 2021. Another highlight is Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone Galaxy Z Fold3 will hold this under-display selfie camera. Apart from Samsung, as we’ve said earlier that Xiaomi and Oppo are also working on this technology and have vowed to mass-produce phones with under-display cameras in the next year. That’s all we’ve yet and we have to wait some more time to get clearer information about the Galaxy S21.
