Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake

We all know that the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake has been in trouble for some time. Now we are hearing that the developer Saber Interactive has reportedly left his embattled parent company, Embracer.

The news further says that it is a $500 million deal to become a privately owned company. We have this piece of news from Bloomberg that reports that the troubled Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake is still in progress.

However, we don’t know for sure whether it will ever actually come out or not. And even if it gets launched, what kind of game will it be?

Previously, in November, the CEO of Embracer, Lars Wingefors, refused to answer questions about the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. He said,

“I notice that anything I say about this becomes a headline, so that is my only comment.”

As you may already know, Saber Interactive is also the game developer company working on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. This game is due in September, and we don’t have much information about it either.

In addition, Borderlands developer Gearbox is due for sale, while Embracer’s high-profile restricting is still in progress. Earlier this month, the company again issued a warning of further layoffs.

And this is despite the fact that in June last year, it laid off almost 1,387 people from its workforce. Even its total headcount decreased by 904 in the second quarter of the financial year. And by the third quarter, it had reduced it by another 483.

And that’s 8% of the total workforce of the group globally. Moreover, the company has also cancelled almost 29 announced games during the two quarters discussed above.

All these conditions are enough to indicate that there is something terribly wrong with Embracer. Even Lars went on to say that Embracer was ready to sell off its parts of business.

With all this news, we can’t say for sure if Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is going to make it to screens. However, if it really does, then we have to see what kind of gameplay or storyline it has to offer.
