Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

Today we are hearing about the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, but why is it important, or why should we talk about another chipset? Well, we are all very aware of the fact that technology is developing at an unprecedented rate today.

The technology we were using yesterday is now being replaced by the technology we use today. Whether it’s a smartphone, laptop, PC, gaming console, or any other piece of device, everything is evolving with time.

The same is true for chipsets, which are an integral part of today’s smartphones. The quality of a chipset can even affect the quality of a smartphone, and people love to buy phones with the latest processors and chipsets.

In this background, news related to the latest chipset has become important, particularly about the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. And that is exactly what we will be talking about in this article, so let’s dive in.

Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

Now, it has been proven that one of the best chipsets for smartphones is none other than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It is significantly impacting the mobile world, and every day we hear news of the comparison between this chipset and others.

However, now we are hearing another piece of news saying that there might be a cut-down version of the powerful chipset. Reportedly, this new chipset will be called the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and has appeared on Geekbench.

We have a video in which a Realme phone can be seen with this new chip, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. This entire scenario is not at all surprising because the Chinese company for smartphones is well known for making budget-friendly devices.

So, we can expect that the new chipset will be cheap and affordable. And it can also deliver somewhat less performance. But then again, it is completely understandable as cost-efficiency does come with a cost.

Hence, it will make some sense why Realme will choose a cut-down version of a chipset to power an affordable phone. However, compared to their workings, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 was not like its mighty brother.

The previously launched chipset has high scores in single and multi-core. It reached 2,329 in single-core tests and 7,501 in multi-core tests. But here we have to note one thing: the device looked like it was in its early phase; we can expect an improved score in the finals.

One more change to notice in the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is that the processor looks to be running an Adreno 735 GPU. While its big brother is running on 750, that is again more than the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.

In addition to this, this new cut-down version is running at a lower speed of 3.01 GHz and has a core configuration of 1+3+4 rather than 1+5+2. Till now, it is not clear whether this new chipset is a cut-down version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or some other chipset.
