Indian AVGC ecosystem levels up: WinZO takes indigenous technology & culture global
The ‘Bharat Tech Triumph’ venture was launched by WinZO with the aim of providing a global platform for industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and visionaries who are dedicated to fostering technological innovation and exports from India. This initiative underscores WinZO’s commitment to aligning with national initiatives such as Digital India, Startup India, and Make in India, in line with the vision of creating a $1 trillion digital economy by 2030.
A diverse array of games secured victories, including those inspired by Indian epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata, a simulation of temple construction, a virtual reality cricket experience, and more. The selection process was overseen by esteemed juries comprising industry veterans, including representatives from STPI, Kalaari, Lumikai, CleverTap, and AWS.
Commenting on the initiative, Paavan Nanda, Co-Founder of WinZO, emphasized the platform’s role in fostering technological innovation and exporting culturally relevant content that deepens the understanding of India’s rich culture and society. He highlighted the transformative power of gaming and content in bridging cultures and facilitating cultural exchanges, ultimately contributing to India’s global influence.
Rajesh Raju, Managing Director of Kalaari Capital, praised WinZO for empowering the startup community and providing unparalleled opportunities for India’s gaming ecosystem to thrive on the global stage.
The winners expressed their gratitude for the opportunity and shared their enthusiasm for showcasing their creations at the world’s premier technology and gaming trade platform, GDC. Nikhil Malankar, the founder of the studio behind “Mumbai Gullies,” expressed his hopes for Indian gaming to continue thriving and making significant contributions to the global stage.

Notably, this initiative follows WinZO’s successful establishment of the India Pavilion at the Brazil Game Show (BGS), where it facilitated collaborations among numerous game tech companies. The ‘Bharat Tech Triumph’ now aims to empower gaming developers to represent themselves in other leading markets, further solidifying India’s foothold in the global gaming arena and promoting Indian leadership.
By propelling India’s transformation into a preeminent hub for game development on the global stage, WinZO continues to champion the nation’s gaming ecosystem and drive its expansion into new frontiers.
As the gaming industry in India continues to evolve rapidly, the ‘Bharat Tech Triumph’ initiative stands as a testament to WinZO’s unwavering commitment to nurturing innovation and propelling the nation’s gaming sector onto the global stage.
