Inter Milan have not just usurped Juventus as the most dominant force in Serie A but also as the free transfer maestros in Italy. The Nerazzurri are preparing to sign two key players in the summer transfer window which will bolster their attack even further.
Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski and Porto striker Mehdi Taremi are both set to join the club in the summer with the contract details finalised between the two parties. Zielinski has cleared the medical for the transfer, and is set to leave Napoli after an eight year spell with the club.
Inter Milan to sign Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski as free agents
Zielinski will not renew his contract any further with the Azzurri, and has not been registered as part of their Champions League squad for the remainder of the season as well. With Inter firmly establishing themselves as the top club in Italy, they will benefit even more by having a seasoned veteran like the Polish international, who is also just 29 years old.
The club also pulled off a great deal this summer by signing Marcus Thuram as a free agent after his departure from Borussia Monchengladbach. In the process, they replaced Romelu Lukaku with a player of a similar profile and Thuram is thriving now in Serie A.
They also signed Juan Cuadrado on a short-term contract, and recruited Hakan Calhanoglu a few years ago after he left AC Milan. And all these additions have been highly beneficial for the club in their ambitions.
With Taremi, they will receive a striker that is experienced at the club and international level. He has agreed a deal with the club until 2026, and could be a great rotational option, if Alexis Sanchez indeed leaves the club at the end of the season.
