Far Cry 6 is the upcoming action-adventure first-person shooter game, is all set with a new frictional territory. Developed by Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft, the game leads us to a Caribbean vacation in the fictional country of Yara, where things are, unsurprisingly, a bit chaotic. It is set amidst the riots attempting to boot evil dictator El Presidente from power.
Far Cry 6 is the sixth main installment of the Far Cry series, which will release on 18th February 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia.
Far Cry 6’s setting
For Far Cry 6, Ubisoft planned to jump back again to a tropical setting, and the setting is described as the “the largest Far Cry playground to date” and “a tropical paradise frozen in time”. The game is all set in a fictional Caribbean island of Yara which is inspired by Cuba. The island is ruled by a fascist dictator named “El Presidente” Antón Castillo (Giancarlo Esposito). The dictator has a son named Diego who will become the successor after his father.
Main Protagonist
You’ll play the game as a revolutionary named Dani Rojas, a local yaran and a guerrilla soldier fighting for the independence of his nation. As you were given the option of selecting the gender of the player in Far Cry 5 and Far Cry New Dawn, you will be presented with the same in the Far Cry 6. If you choose Male, you’ll get the voice of Sean Rey and if you choose Female, you’ll get the voice of Nisa Gunduz.
Your main objective of the game is to fight against Antón Castillo’s men and takedown Antón Castillo, the ruler of Yara who is in power for 50 years.
Guns for Hire
Like Far Cry 5 and Far Cry New Dawn, you’ll be competent to hire companions to jog around and fight with you. This time it is named “Amigos for Hire” and one of the amigos is a wiener dog named Chorizo.
Is Diego young Vaas Montenegro?
There are lots of speculations going around about Diego, the son of Antón Castillo after the release of the cinematic trailer of Far Cry 6. It is speculated that Diego might be the young Vaas Montenegro and the game is a prequel to the Far Cry 3. Vaas Montenegro is one of the most iconic and fan-favorite villains of the Far Cry series, who appeared in Far cry 3.
Two major theories support the claim that Diego is Vass, they are-
- If you have played Far Cry 3 and seen Vass closely you must have noticed a scar in the right eyebrow. The same scar is present in the same place on Diego’s eyebrow.
- Vass was born in 1985, and Far Cry 6 settings take place around 1990, which suggests Diego to be the young Vass.
All said we are eagerly waiting to get some gameplay trailers of Far Cry 6 and last but not the least to get our doubt’s cleared by Ubisoft about Diego being Vass.
