During the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 Infinix, a smartphone manufacturer, from China unveiled a groundbreaking technology called E-Color Shift.
Developed in-house by the company this innovative technology allows for color changes on the back panels of smartphones without using any power. The aim of Infinix is to offer users the opportunity to personalize their smartphone panel using this technology enabling them to display time mood and other features in a matrix arrangement.
All About the Infinix E-Color Shift Technology
The E-Color Shift technology utilizes E-Ink Prism 3 which consists of microstructures containing color particles with negative charges. By applying voltages to these microstructures the electric field within them undergoes changes that cause the corresponding color particles to move and create the desired color display. According to Infinix, this technology allows users to customize their smartphone panels without worrying about battery consumption since it operates without requiring any power. Additionally, Infinix is exploring possibilities through a software application that aims to enable up to 60 areas, on the device’s hardware with each area supporting various colors.
At CES 2024 Infinix not introduced their Color Shift technology but also showcased their AirCharge innovation. This technology provides users with the convenience of wireless charging delivering speeds of, up to 7.5W. AirCharge utilizes coil magnetic resonance and Infinix unique adaptive algorithms enabling wireless charging at distances as far as 20cm and even at angles of up to 60°. By operating at frequencies, than 6.78MHz this technology incorporates circuits that enhance safety during the charging process. The AirCharge technology eliminates the need for a physical connection with the charger, offering users the flexibility to charge their devices seamlessly during gaming sessions or while watching videos.
Furthermore, Infinix presented its Extreme Temperature Battery technology at CES 2024, addressing the challenges of battery performance in extreme cold conditions. To overcome this issue, Infinix employs biomimetic electrolyte and fusion solid-state technology in the electrodes, enabling the batteries to operate smoothly in temperatures as low as -40°C. The technology also facilitates charging in ambient temperatures ranging from -40°C to 60°C. Infinix claims that the Extreme-Temp Battery ensures reliable performance and endurance in extremely cold environments, a feat not achievable with conventional lithium-ion batteries.
