Bruno Fernandes has won Manchester United’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for the 2019-20 season. He has played just 14 Premier League games last season for Manchester United and has still won the award, which clearly shows the amount of impact he has made in the Premier League.
Bruno Fernandes joined Manchester United at the end of January from Sporting Lisbon. He has given the team a necessary boost for their push in the top 4 last season.
Manchester United was facing problems maintaining consistency in the Premier League. After the injury of both Pogba and Rashford, the lack of creativity in the team can be clearly seen. They were 17 points behind from the top 4.
At that very moment, Bruno Fernandes joined Manchester United. His partnership with Martial clearly made an instant impact in the team and United’s run for the Champions League spot. They had beaten Chelsea in Stamford Bridge and Manchester City at Old Trafford by 2-0 both times. Bruno assisted a goal in both matches as well.
He continued his form after football restarted in June again. United was unbeaten in the last 14 games of the Premier League last season and finished the season as 3rd in the Premier League. Bruno has registered 8 goals and 7 assists in those matches. He was also awarded as ‘Premier League Player of the Month’ in February and June. His impact on the team’s performance also makes him the best player of United last season.
Manchester United is going to start their 2020-21 season from tomorrow against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. Inclusion of the Dutch midfielder Donny Van De Beek is surely a great recruit in the team. With a midfield consisting of Bruno-Pogba-DVB will surely be a treat to watch for the football fans. If the club can sign some more targeted players like Sancho, then this team is capable of challenging for the titles again.
