In anticipation of the upcoming launch of Nothing Phone 2a at the Mobile World Congress 2024, some detailed information has been leaked about its camera and display specifications and color options. Here’s a comprehensive overview of everything about this upcoming budget mid-range phone.

Nothing Phone 2a

The Upcoming Nothing Phone 2a

The device features a dual-camera setup, possibly arranged horizontally, comprising a primary 50MP Samsung S5KGN9 shooter with a 1/1.5” sensor size and 1.0-micron pixel size – the same camera seen in the Moto G84. Additionally, it includes a secondary 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 ultrawide camera with a 1/2.76” sensor size and 0.64-micron pixel size, matching the setup of the Moto G84, Nothing Phone (1), and Phone (2).

The front camera is equipped with a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor (similar to the OnePlus 10) housed in a small punch-hole cutout. Although earlier reports suggested a 16MP front camera, the tipster indicates that it might be a binned 16MP value or simply incorrect/placeholder information.

Details about the Nothing Phone 2a display have been scarce, but a recent sketch revealing its rear display suggests that the phone, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, is likely to feature a 120Hz AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1084×2412 pixels. The panel, manufactured by China’s Visionox and BOE, carries the model number rm692h5 according to the latest information provided by tipster Kamila. Previous hints indicated a 6.7” front display for the Nothing Phone 2a.

In terms of availability, the original Nothing Phone (2) was launched in three SKUs: Pong for global, PongIND for India, and PongEEA for European markets. However, the upcoming Phone (2a) will be available in four regions, namely PacmanIND (India), PacmanJPN (Japan), PacmanEEA (Europe), and Pacman (global). This expanded availability suggests a broader reach for the sub-flagship Phone 2a compared to its predecessor.

You’ll have the option to choose between two colors – Black and White. While it’s possible that only one of the colors will be available at launch, the other is expected to follow shortly. Keep your fingers crossed for further updates. The official unveiling of Nothing Phone 2a is scheduled for the “Nothing to See” event at MWC 2024 on February 27 in Barcelona. Although there’s a possibility of Nothing Phone (3) making an appearance, the debut of the Phone 2a is confirmed.”
