After months of speculation, Luis Suarez is now set to join Inter Miami for the 2024 MLS season. The Uruguayan finished the 2023 season in the Brasileirão Serie A with Gremio, and has now made the move after seeing out the entirety of his contract.
The striker will reunite with former Barcelona teammates Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and most importantly, his best friend, Lionel Messi. The Argentine helped Inter Miami win their first ever trophy only days after joining them, and is now set for a highly anticipated new campaign next year.
Luis Suarez to sign for Inter Miami from Gremio
The deal agreed upon between Suarez and Inter Miami is for only one season, with the option for another. There was speculation that the forward could retire after his spell with Gremio owing to the pain he faced to take to the pitch.
But now, those rumours seem to be put to rest as he is set for one last dance alongside his former Barcelona teammates.
Luis Suarez has signed the contract, and an official statement has confirmed his arrival at David Beckham’s side too. It could be a massive turnaround in the fortunes of the club, who failed to qualify for the playoffs this past season.
The striker showed he still has a lot left in the tank, earning the best striker and best player award in Brazil for scoring 26 goals and 17 assists over 53 appearances for Gremio.
