Manchester City were stunned by Crystal Palace at home, after Michael Olise converted a late penalty to draw 2-2 at the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s side have now dropped points in four out of their last five games, causing a real stir in the Premier League title race.

If Liverpool defeat Manchester United this weekend, the Sky Blues will be six points away from the top of the table. And with the FIFA Club World Cup set to be played next week, they could be 12 points off the top by the time they play in the English top flight next time around.

City went ahead in the 24th minute as Jack Grealish scored his third straight Premier League game for the first time in his career. Shortly after, Joel Ward stumbled and had to be substituted off with an injury to further add to Crystal Palace’s.

Grealish then played a major part in the second goal for City as well, playing the ball into the box for Rico Lewis to score. Jean Mateta then pulled one back from nowhere, before the late penalty for Olise, after Phil Foden kicked Mateta in the shin.

Things could have gone very differently in the game had Ederson been shown a red card instead of a yellow for charging out early in the game. But even after a VAR check, the Brazilian was let off with a yellow.
