Today, Prime Video India, a beloved entertainment hub, hosted an enlightening discussion at the ongoing 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), in Goa’s Film Bazaar. This session was centered around the ever-advancing field of VFX technology and its role as a dynamic medium for artistic expression. The acclaimed Original series Mumbai Diaries Season 2 was utilized to demonstrate how VFX propels narratives by conjuring worlds and plots that break conventional barriers.

The discussion was led by a panel of experts including Nikhil Madhok, head of Hindi Originals at Prime Video, Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani, both Producers at Emmay Entertainment, Malay Prakash, Director of Photography, and Vishwas Savanur, VFX Head. In addition to this, Prime Video also showcased the VFX magic behind Mumbai Diaries Season 2 in a specially designed zone at the Tech Pavilion in Film Bazaar. This zone had the honor of being visited by Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports.
Nikhil Madhok emphasized the transformative role of VFX in storytelling, describing it as the force that empowers and inspires storytellers to navigate beyond the limits of imagination, thereby revolutionising the global entertainment scene. He stressed that VFX is much more than just creating visually impressive spectacles—it provides storytellers with the ability to design worlds and narratives unrestricted by real-world limitations. Madhok further highlighted how advancements in VFX technology allow creators to prioritise their narrative and create immersive worlds on paper, confident that VFX can bring their vision to life.
Madhok also reflected on the multifaceted benefits of VFX, including its realism, scalability, cost-effectiveness, and safety, all of which are instrumental in pushing creative boundaries. However, he advised against viewing VFX solely as a cost-cutting tool, urging industry professionals to see VFX as a potent instrument that liberates the imagination of storytellers.
