In a recent interview with Japanese publication AV Watch, Sony’s Senior Vice President of Platform Experience has revealed some exciting things about the PlayStation portal.
What Hideaki Nishino has told in the interview is that PlayStation portal wasn’t made to earn profit but to augment play time with the PlayStation 5 console. And it doesn’t sound that much surprising too, as it doesn’t have too much features and limited scope.
According to him the gadget was designed to target a specific demographic allowing them to enjoy PlayStation 5 games. It was designed in a way that players can play the PlayStation 5 games even if they are not near with console through the PlayStation portal.
As you already know that PlayStation portal is a handheld focused on remote – play. However, there are pretty good chances that things can change in the future.
And according to some assumptions, this handheld device may be able to support cloud streaming. As soon as this new technological advancement is tested successfully in the future, and device can use it.
