Cesc Fabregas has been named the interim manager of Italian Serie B side Como, which means the former midfielder has now taken up his first senior managerial job. The 36-year-old played for Como last season before hanging up his boots after the end of the 21/22 campaign.
After retiring, he was given the responsibility of managing the youth and reserve teams for Como. Now, he has temporarily been given the chance to manage the senior team with the board looking for a permanent appointment in the near future.

The former Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder will be in the dugout for his first game against Feralpisalo on November 25 after the international break. Heading into the break, Como are currently 12th in the table with 21 points from 12 games.
Interestingly, Cesc Fabregas is also a shareholder of the club alongside former Arsenal and Barcelona teammate Thierry Henry.
It will be interesting to see how the Spaniard fares in his first managerial stint, considering how good a player he was. Fabregas’ tactical awareness has been praised by several of his former managers, and he could implement the Barcelona DNA of football that he was brought into via the La Masia academy.
However, it will be difficult to make drastic changes considering the shortage of time he has to train the squad before the matches come thick and fast.
