Finally, Samsung has launched its new beast in the market, a flexible Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. The Brown Edition of this phone will be available from September 5 in selected countries. Samsung has already showcased this new smartphone at the time of announcing the Galaxy Note 20 series last month. At that time, the company did not reveal its pricing and other details. This phone comes with four different color variants: Metallic Silver, Metallic Red, Metallic Blue, and Metallic Gold.
Let’s check out the official specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. This phone runs on Android 10 OS with One UI 2.5 and powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC processor. Regarding the display, this phone features a 7.6-inch full-HD+ (1,768×2,208 pixels) foldable, Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 22.5:18 aspect ratio. This phone also has a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Flex Display with 816×2,260 pixels resolution and a 25:9 aspect ratio on the cover. The main display of this phone also incorporates Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) for improved image quality and a more premium feel.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has 12GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, which is not expandable via any microSD card. Regarding the camera specifications, this phone comes with a triple rear camera set up, that has a 12-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 lens (optical image stabilization (OIS) support), a 12-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 telephoto lens. This phone also supports 4K video recording as well as slow-motion videos at 960fps.
This phone also has a 10-megapixel selfie camera on both the cover screen as well as the main display with an f/2.2 lens. Other preloaded features of the camera are Auto Scene Optimisation, Bixby Vision, Group Selfie, HDR10+ Video, Live Focus, and Panorama.
In terms of connectivity, this phone includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, UWB (Ultra Wide Band), and a USB Type-C port. There are also various types of sensors to ease your everyday work, like an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity sensor, and an RGB sensor. This phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It also includes stereo speakers by AKG along with Dolby Atmos support. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a decent battery of 4,500mAH that supports fast charging, wireless charging, and Wireless PowerShare. Besides, the phone has a dimension of 159.2×128.2×6.9mm and weighs 279 grams.
Samsung also claims that it has re-engineered the hinge on the Galaxy Z Fold 2 with a dedicated “sweeper” to help clean dust and debris out using elastic fibers. This phone also features a CAM Mechanism that lets you open it up at multiple angles. Samsung has decided on the pricing of this premium smartphone is Rs. 149,990. The company will start shipping Z Fold2 units to buyers on September 18.
