The Lionel Messi transfer saga gets worsened as now it seems confirmed that the Argentine has handovers his transfer to the Barca board. There have been a lot of rumors flooding regarding Messi’s stay at the Camp Nou.
After the humiliating loss to Bayern, he seems to have lost all the confidence to end his career at Barca and now he would like to leave the club using his free transfer clause. Having met the new coach Koeman, Messi seems to have made up his mind and will like to move on.
Messi has sent his request to the board to activate the “free transfer clause” and this is confirmed from the much worthy sources making this to be a historic decision.
Although the club has said that he had until June 10 to terminate the contract this will be in the hands of the legal services. However, the board will be meeting in days to decide upon this whether or not his 700 million euros release clause will be valid or not.
This is the first time ever, the situation has worsened this much as Messi is on the verge of leaving his only football club where he is deemed as the God of football. In the meantime, another club legend, Carlés Puyol has bid farewell to Messi already.
Obviously, this is a heartbreaking decision for all the Barca out there as this time the matter looks even more serious and it seems no one can stop the Argentine to leave the club. Already clubs like Manchester City and Inter Milan have been linked to the club, this can be an end of the era.
Messi not playing at Camp Nou? 2020 really seems to be a cruel year… 🥺
