Julian Nagelsmann has reached an agreement with the DFB to become the new manager of the German national team. The former Bayern Munich manager was replaced by Thomas Tuchel, and is still on their payroll but has been sidelined.
Now, it appears that he has agreed to take over the national team with 9 months to go for the 2024 Euros. The manager will also be taking a pay cut to take over the men’s national team with immediate effect. Bayern are ready to terminate his contract and it seems only a matter of time before the formalities are complete.
Julian Nagelsmann to become the new Germany manager
The DFB were forced to sack Hansi Flick after the embarrassing 4-1 loss to Japan in a friendly. This is the first time that a Germany manager has been sacked, owing to the constant run of poor results, as well as a lacklustre performance at the 2022 World Cup.
With the Euros coming up, the new Germany manager will have a lot of expectations from him. The national team was able to pick up a win over France in their first game following Flick’s sacking, with Rudi Voller on the bench.
Julian Nagelsmann was in talks to join several clubs, with Tottenham, Chelsea and Napoli all rumoured as potential destinations. But, he could not reach an agreement with any of them and has now found his next project in the German national team.
