MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra Confirmed to Debut with Redmi Note 13 Series

MediaTek has recently unveiled its inaugural 3nm processor in collaboration with TSMC. The company has now introduced the Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor, which is a follow-up to the previously released Dimensity 7200 earlier this year. This new MediaTek chip will be integrated into the upcoming Redmi Note 13 Series in China. The Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset features an octa-core configuration and includes a dedicated MediaTek APU for AI processing. It also boasts 5G connectivity capabilities.

MediaTek quietly revealed the Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor in China through press releases. This new MediaTek chip is built on a 4nm architecture and comprises 2 Cortex A715 cores and 6 Cortex 510 cores, along with the ARM Mali-G610 GPU. It supports both LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM with a maximum frequency of 6400MHz.

The Dimensity 7200 Ultra can accommodate cameras with a resolution of up to 200MP and supports 4K video recording at 30fps. It can drive Full HD+ displays with a 144Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it features the 5th-generation MediaTek APU 650 for AI processing and an Imagiq 765 ISP with 14-bit HDR image processing support.

The Dimensity 7200 Ultra is 5G compatible and supports dual 5G standby, VoNR, and carrier aggregation. Although the processor has not yet been listed on MediaTek’s official website, more details will likely be made public soon. There are rumors that MediaTek may give more details about this chip during the Redmi Note 13 Series launch event, given the significant partnership between MediaTek and Xiaomi.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra boasts a 4nm architecture, octa-core configuration (2 x Cortex-A715 and 6 x Cortex-510 cores), ARM Mali-G610 GPU, supports up to 200MP cameras with 4K 30fps video recording, and offers a range of connectivity options including 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and GPS. Additionally, it features the 5th-gen MediaTek APU 650 and Imagiq 765 ISP for advanced AI processing and 14-bit HDR image capabilities.

The Upcoming Redmi Note 13 Series

The Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor is set to make its debut in the Redmi Note 13 Series. These phones have recently appeared on certification websites such as TENAA, providing insight into their specifications.

The Redmi Note 13 Series is expected to comprise four models. The flagship model is anticipated to feature a 200MP camera and a 1.5K resolution display, possibly with a 5000mAh battery and 120W fast charging support. The second model in the series is likely to incorporate the new Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor, accompanied by a 5120mAh battery and 67W fast charging, as per a 3C listing.

Wang Teng, the General Manager of Xiaomi China, has confirmed in a Weibo post that the Redmi Note 13 Series will launch in China this month. Additionally, a teaser from Redmi hints at the inclusion of the Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor and Samsung ISOCELL camera sensors in the upcoming series.
