Although it retains a 200MP primary camera akin to its forerunner, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is opting for an updated sensor.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 200MP camera and other specs
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is set to use a 200MP ISOCELL HP2SX camera sensor, a more optimized version of the ISOCELL HP2 used in the Galaxy S23 Ultra, as revealed by the reliable tipster Ice Universe. The sensor has a 1/1.3-inch optical format, 0.7µm individual pixels, and is expected to include Super Quad Phase Detection autofocus, 8K 30fps video recording, as well as 16-in-1 (12MP) and 4-in-1 (50MP) pixel binning modes.
Additionally, it has been disclosed that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will incorporate an upgraded telephoto camera with a 50MP sensor (1/2.52-inch) and 0.7µm pixels. Paired with a 3x optical zoom lens and OIS, it promises a significant enhancement in capturing fine details. It is anticipated to provide optical-quality 5x zoom, thanks to a combination of a larger sensor and in-sensor cropping. The phone is also expected to maintain the same 12MP selfie camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, and 10MP telephoto camera (10x zoom) as the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Apart from camera enhancements, the Galaxy S24 Ultra boasts an array of impressive specifications. These include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a choice between 12GB or 16GB of RAM, storage options ranging from 256GB to an expansive 2TB, an in-display fingerprint reader, IP68 water and dust resistance, stereo speakers, a sturdy titanium frame, and a generous 5,000mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging. It is expected to also offer 15W fast wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. The phone will come preloaded with Android 14.
