Despite being one of the biggest technology firms in the world, Apple still relies on outside manufacturing. Although the corporation has one of the top engineering teams in the world and the best R&D department in the industry, these teams are more concerned with the product’s design. As a result, the American tech giant frequently works on various challenges with other manufacturers like Foxconn, TSMC, Samsung, and BOE. Currently, there is a rumour circulating that Apple intends to buy TSMC’s whole supply of 3nm chips.

The partnership between Apple and TSMC keeps getting stronger.

Recent sources claim that the two businesses have reached a significant agreement for 3nm chips that will be utilised in the A17 Bionic, which will power the future iPhone 15 Pro models, and the M3 processors, which will be the brains of the upcoming MacBook models. Most of the 2023 production of 3nm chips have already been acquired by Apple. This acquisition, according to some reports, was based on 90%. This percentage is now 100%.

The rumour is based on a DigiTimes report that included sources from the industry. According to the source, Apple has already reserved the entire 3nm capacity of TSMC for 2023. If the rumour is accurate, Apple would score a big victory. It would offer the business a huge edge over its competitors in the quest to create the most potent and effective chips. Additionally, it would enable Apple to continue to dominate the worldwide smartphone industry.

The 3nm chips from TSMC have a variety of benefits over its predecessors, including as more transistors per unit area, less power consumption, better performance, and support for new features. These benefits make 3nm processors a potential technology for a variety of devices, such as self-driving cars, computers, servers, smartphones, tablets, and more.
