Intel Core i7-14700K appears in new Benchmarks

The Intel Core i7-14700K Raptor Lake Refresh CPU’s most recent benchmarks have been revealed and compared against the Intel Core i7-13700K. These most recent benchmarks were directly released by -T-, the creator of content for Bilibili, who smartly labelled the video “13700K SUPER PRO MAX PLUS ULTRA OC” to get over the embargo and NDA. The actual chip is photoshopped in the BIOS to look to be the “Core i7-13700KS,” but it is actually the Intel Core i7-14700K, which is evident in CPU-z and is only present in this desktop SKU’s 8 P-Core and 12 E-Core combination.

This will be the Intel Core i7-14700K’s fourth leak after several previous appearances. The chip was first revealed in the first, leaked benchmarks from July, which revealed up to 15% better performance with an ES SKU. Later, we saw the chip running up to 6.3 GHz (overclocked) on an MSI Z690 motherboard, and it also had additional benchmarks leak out alongside its i9 brother in the BAPCo database.

The Intel Core i7-14700K CPU has an 8+12 core configuration that gives 20 cores & 28 threads in terms of specifications.

With an 8+8 core configuration and an additional boost in multi-threaded performance from the additional E-Cores, this will be a nice upgrade over the current Core i7-13700K processor. The CPU will have clock speeds of 3.4 GHz at the base and up to 5.6 GHz with TBMT3, and it will have 33 MB of clever cache (instead of 30 MB). This is also a 200 MHz increase over the 13700K, and we may expect performance improvements of between 5 and 10% from this specific SKU.

With CPU-z, the Intel Core i7-14700K achieves scores of 14992.8 in the multi-threaded test and 909.7 in the single-threaded test. The increase over the Core i7-13700K is 20% in multi-thread testing and 4% in single-thread tests. The multi-threaded lead in Cinebench R23 drops to 15% while the single-core lead remains constant at +4%.

The rise in the number of threads is consistent with a +16.6% gain over the Core i7-13700K, and the additional close also provides some benefit. Two cores of the microprocessor can be observed accelerating up to 5.6 GHz. The all-core frequencies are kept at 5.5 GHz for the P-Cores and 4.3 GHz for the E-Cores, which represents an increase of 200 MHz and 100 MHz, respectively, over the i7-13700K.

Additionally, it is demonstrated that, when stressed with AIDA64, the processor uses 30W more power than its predecessor (260.54W vs. 231.29W). The Raptor Lake Refresh lineup will provide minor benefits but at the expense of increased power consumption, as we have been stating since our Computex revelations.
