Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker has decided to extend his contract with the club amidst interest over a transfer this summer. The player held talks with Bayern Munich over a transfer from the treble winners, but things now seem to have changed surrounding his future.

The player has accepted a proposal to renew from the Sky Blues and will soon officially sign the deal. His current deal runs out in 2024, which means he would have been available as a free agent next summer. But, it now seems that he has decided to stay on in England and turn down the opportunity to play in Germany.

The 33-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down, as he was the fastest player in the Premier League this past season. He has shown remarkable fitness and defensive prowess to be able to keep up with players over a decade younger than him.

Since his move to Manchester City from Tottenham in 2017, he has won five Premier League titles, four EFL Cups, two FA Cups and the 2023 Champions League.

Recently, he has been used as a centre-back by Pep Guardiola. And even with the change of position, he has proved himself to be a very effective defender even with numerous options in the squad.

City have also offered a new deal to Bernardo Silva, who had offers from PSG and Barcelona. The Portuguese midfielder is also expected to stay at the club, with the club ruling out a transfer for him this summer.
