Interactive match sim

You can jump in and out of gameplay during matches to control the outcome of the match, change the course of a game by controlling key moments like penalties and free kicks, and make changes directly from the sim as you monitor your players’ performance levels and the match stats.

When you’re watching your team from the touchline you’ll have the following options to effectively manage your side:

  • Fitness – gives you an idea of which players might run out of Stamina first.
  • Player Ratings – summarizes which players are performing well and which players are struggling.
  • Match Stats – provides an instant snapshot of both teams’ performance.
  • Game Plan – shows the systems the teams have adopted on the field.

It will also provide audio commentary and stadium atmosphere throughout the match.

Player development

New position training lets you turn your right-backs into right-wingers, goal-scoring midfielders into false 9s, and more. The new development plans let you focus on your squad’s development in the areas you want to match your team’s style of play.

Match sharpness and Active training

EA Sports has introduced a new attribute, match sharpness. This indicates how likely your players are to perform in the most crucial moments during the course of a game. You can increase sharpness with a new Active Training System that gives you the ability to set up group training sessions to improve your team’s chances of winning the match.

New transfer options

EA’s enhanced transfer realism provides both human and AI-controlled teams with new ways to sign players. You can now make Loan to Buy offers with future transfer fees to secure new talent for your team.

Schedule Planning

You can plan your team’s training schedule with a new activity management system. You will have the option to decide when to train and rest your players during the week in order to balance your players’ sharpness with morale and fitness.

Enhanced opposition AI

EA Sports has enhanced the opposition AI. The opponents will approach games with more intelligence in both defence and attack. The new system will help in creating more informed AI decision-making in marking, tackling, passing and dribbling. You will now face more challenges during each match.

Author’s take

EA Sports has finally revamped the Career Mode. The fans were disappointed with the Career Mode in FIFA 20 but it seems EA has done a good job to earn back their fans. Till now, FIFA 21 seems to be winning the race but still, it will all depend on the gameplay which can be truly tested after the game releases on 9th October worldwide.

EA Sports has already opened the pre-order links for FIFA 21 and is offering a special FUT item if you pre-order the Ultimate Edition within 14th August. You can also pre-order FIFA 21 from Amazon in India.
