AC Milan have agreed the signing of Tijjani Reijnders from AZ Alkmaar for a fee worth €20 million plus add-ons. The midfielder has accepted personal terms for the move as well, and is keen on joining Milan ahead of the new season.
Medical tests have been scheduled at the start of the coming week, and the move should be made official very soon. Reijnders only wanted Milan, and will become the third midfield signing after Ruben Loftus Cheek and Christian Pulisic from Chelsea, with the American expected to play in the number 10 role.
Tijjani Reijnders to sign for Milan with €20m deal agreed
The Dutchman ranks very high in terms of attacking actions such as key passes, progressive passes, forward passes and ball carrying actions per 90. As a result, his arrival will provide a significant boost to Stefano Pioli’s side while going forward.
This will help offset the departure of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United, who was one of the most creative players in the team. But with their transfer business so far, Milan are looking set to compete for the Scudetto once again in 23/24.
The arrival of a defensive midfielder could boost their chances even further to have a successful season. But in spite of the arrival of Tijjani Reijnders and Ruben Loftus Cheek, Milan are likely to pursue Yunus Musah of Valencia as their next signing.
