Everton are close to being sold if they can survive in the Premier League, with news breaking that the dismal reign of Farhad Moshiri could soon end. American Investment Fund 777 Partners are expected to complete a takeover worth £600 million, but only if the club can avoid relegation.
MSP Sports Capital are also in the race to take over the club, but are second favourites. 777 Partners want to guarantee that Everton will be a Premier League club next season before finalising the sale procedure. And the chances of that happening are very slim as things stand.
Everton could be sold for £600 million soon
After seven years and a series of protests from fans, Moshiri now seems open to letting go of the club. They are facing relegation for yet another season, and are in deep trouble this time as well. As things stand, Everton are just a point outside the relegation zone, and will need one more win to ensure that they stay in the top flight.
Their last two games of the season are against Wolves and Bournemouth, which presents them a fighting chance to retain Premier League status.
The club’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock is expected to be active next season. And ahead of the move, 777 Partners could be the new owners of the club. They have stakes in Sevilla, Standard Liege, Vasco da Gama and Genoa. And the Toffees could be the crown jewel of their portfolio if they are able to get the deal over the line.
