Jobe Bellingham, the younger brother of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, is expected to join Sunderland in the Championship this summer.
He has been with Birmingham City since the age of 16, when his brother made the breakthrough to the first team. And while Dortmund were interested in signing Jobe as well, it seems like he will be staying in England and in the second division of English football.
Jobe Bellingham to sign for Sunderland this summer
The two clubs are locked in transfer talks and are expected to reach an agreement over a £3 million fee. The player has agreed to the move, and it is now up to the clubs to finalise the terms of the move between them.
The 17-year-old plays as an attacking midfielder, and is expected to get regular minutes with Sunderland – which was one of the main reasons behind him agreeing to the transfer. He will be travelling for medical tests within the next week, and will then sign the paperwork to complete the formalities.
Jobe Bellingham has played 22 times in the Championship this season, and is showing good potential to follow in his brother’s footsteps. Jude will be moving to Real Madrid this summer, and his brother will also be moving at the same time.
