Cristiano Ronaldo‘s time at Al-Nassr could be up soon. According to reports from El Nacional, the Portugal international is likely to leave Saudi Arabia soon. His team is out of the Saudi Cup, and are lagging behind in the league title race as well.
Al-Nassr’s president has openly admitted that he regrets signing the forward, who has hit a dry spell as of late. And a lifeline has emerged in the form of a move back to Real Madrid – the club where he really became one of the greatest of all-time.
Cristiano Ronaldo linked with Real Madrid return
In 450 games, Cristiano Ronaldo became the top scorer of all-time in the club’s history with 438 goals, while also providing 131 assists. He also won the Champions League four times with Los Blancos, and won four Ballon d’Or trophies while at the Spanish capital as well.
He has maintained a great relationship with club president Florentino Perez, in spite of his departure in 2018. And Perez has reportedly offered Ronaldo a role as an ambassador at his former club.
However, cancelling the €200 million contract that he has signed with Al-Nassr until 2024 seems difficult at this stage. Plus, Ronaldo is likely to return to Europe to play, as per the Saudi club’s former manager, Rudi Garcia. And in that regard, it could still be a few years before we see him hang up his boots and take up the ambassador role.
