Diablo 4: the game has received Gold approval ahead of its release

Diablo 4 has gone gold, according to Blizzard and many fans have been waiting for the good news since they had the opportunity to try out the game during the open beta, and it appears they will be even less patient until they can continue playing Diablo 4.

Going gold means that the game has received “gold” approval from companies such as Microsoft or Sony, allowing it to be published on their platforms. This marks the end of the main development stage and the beginning of the manufacturing stage. Although this process is now digital, companies used to send their games’ master copies on gold-colored discs. This does not preclude the developer from making additional minor changes to further polish the game. When it comes to Diablo 4, this is likely to excite fans.

When Blizzard released statistics following the open beta, it revealed that fans played Diablo 4 for more than 61 million hours.

The announcement was made on Twitter, where it received over 4,000 likes, and the number is still growing. The release date was also mentioned in the brief but direct message. Many fans, as well as retailer accounts, reacted positively to the news. Simultaneously, while gamers were overjoyed to hear about this development, many expressed frustration at the prospect of having to wait for a game that is now complete. The current wait time is a nice round number, appropriate for the announcement. Fans will be able to purchase Diablo 4 in 50 days.

Since the open beta ended, Blizzard has taken the time to address some of the Diablo 4 issues or inconveniences that players had reported. Class balance and some bosses have been adjusted as expected, as has the addition of more dungeon events and the reduction of unnecessary backtracking between dungeons, among other things. While the major issues have most likely been resolved, and while some fans have now pleaded with Blizzard for an earlier release, there are likely many more minor issues to address before the release date.

Diablo 4 will release on June 6 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
