Diablo IV: Here are all the changes Blizzard is bringing to the games launch version

Blizzard revealed the changes that will be included in the Diablo IV launch version, following an evaluation of all feedback gathered during the record-breaking beta weekends held last month on PC and consoles. The community’s first and most requested change is a reduction in dungeon backtracking. Several dungeon layouts have been optimized to make this tedious task easier and to improve exploration in Diablo IV.

In Diablo IV, for players to complete the ‘Kill All Monsters’ objective, small groups of monsters will now seek out the group rather than being tucked away in some remote corner.

The mechanics of the key objectives found in dungeons have also been improved. Carrying an item that needs to be placed on a pedestal to open a certain door, now grants the player a movement buff, and channel time interactions with these items have been reduced or eliminated. Structure objectives found in dungeons, on the other hand, have been upgraded to include additional combat mechanics in Diablo IV.

Finally, the likelihood of events spawning in a dungeon run has been increased from 10% in the beta to 60% in Diablo IV’s launch version. Similarly, events will spawn more frequently in cellars.

The difficulty of boss fights has been adjusted for melee playstyles, which were severely disadvantaged in the beta compared to ranged playstyles. Blizzard also changed a lot of spells and skills.

In terms of class balance, the Barbarian’s passive damage has been reduced by 10%, and its Whirlwind skill now deals more damage (but costs more Fury), the Druid’s companion skills will deal a lot more damage, and all of its Ultimate skills have shorter cooldowns, the Necromancer’s minions will die more frequently, and the damage inflicted by the Corpse Explosion skill has been reduced.

However, in Diablo IV bonuses in the Book of the Dead have been increased; the Rogue has received upgraded bonuses for multiple passives as well as Subterfuge skills, though Imbuement skills will take longer to recharge; and finally, the Sorcerer’s Chain Lightning has had its damage reduced, but its Charged Bolt spell has had its damage increased.
