Barcelona rejects €60m offer for the young Portuguese - Francisco Trincao

Francisco Trincao can be considered a permanent Sporting Lisbon player, after the club triggered the buy option in his contract. The winger returned to Portugal in a rather complicated move which saw only 50% of his rights transferred to Sporting after a loan move.

The other 50% is owned by Barcelona, who have a buyback clause inserted in his deal. But right now, he has signed permanently for Sporting, after they paid €7 million plus €3 million in add-ons to seal the move even though there are a few months to go until the end of the season.

The buyback clause inserted in his contract will be worth €20-25 million, and Barcelona will be entitled to 50% of any future sales since they own half his image rights.

The 23-year-old has been a regular for the first team this season, scoring 12 goals across all competitions and providing three assists. He spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Wolves, but was unable to impress much. In the summer, he returned to Barcelona but was unable to lock down a starting spot.

Having sealed a move back to his home country in the summer, Francisco Trincao has rediscovered his form. He recently scored his first career hat-trick and is finally making good on the potential he showed while at Braga.
