The Indian Premier League IPL 2023 is off to a great start with exciting matches between top cricket teams, but viewers are facing issues while streaming matches on the JioCinema app. For two consecutive days, JioCinema has been facing criticism for crashing and buffering problems during IPL matches.

Here are some key details about the issues faced by viewers on JioCinema: IPL 2023

  • On day 1 of IPL 2023, viewers reported app crashes and buffering issues during the Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings match. Users took to social media to share their frustrations, and JioCinema responded by requesting more details to resolve the issue.
  • On day 2 of IPL 2023, users reported similar issues during the LSG vs DC match, prompting another round of backlash on social media with the hashtag #JioCrash.
  • JioCinema, owned by Reliance, is providing free streaming of IPL 2023 on its OTT platform, after Reliance picked the majority of the IPL broadcasting rights for a whopping Rs 23,758 crore.
  • Viacom18’s OTT platform JioCinema acquired the digital rights of IPL 2023 for a massive amount last year. IPL is the most expensive sports IP in India, with its broadcast and streaming rights split between Disney Star and Viacom18.
  • Viacom18 recently announced that IPL 2023 would be free to watch on JioCinema. However, they are yet to provide a smooth streaming experience to users.
  • Viewers have complained about buffering issues, audio glitches, and English commentary losing audio feed while watching IPL matches.

Despite the company’s efforts to resolve the issues faced by users, JioCinema has yet to provide a seamless streaming experience during IPL 2023 matches. As IPL continues to gain more viewership in India and around the world, it’s crucial for them to address these issues and ensure that users have a smooth and uninterrupted streaming experience.
