Club Brugge have sacked Scott Parker after only three months in charge, following the club’s humiliating exit in the 22/23 Champions League. The Belgian side were handed a 5-1 loss by Benfica in the return leg, which amounted to 7-1 over two legs.

Parker was only able to achieve two wins during his time in charge of the Belgian side, losing four matches and drawing six. This has left them fourth placed in the league with 46 points, 11 away from third placed Antwerp.

Scott Parker sacked by Club Brugge after Champions League exit

“Scott Parker is no longer head coach of Club Brugge,” the brief statement released about the issue read. He was appointed on December 31 as the replacement for Carl Hoefkens. However, things absolutely did not work out for him.

Before taking the job in Belgium, he was in charge of Fulham in the Premier League. He helped them return to the top flight through the Championship, but was relieved of his duties afterwards. The Cottagers currently stand on the brink of European spots with 39 points from 26 games under Marco Silva.

Parker has been sacked from two jobs in two different countries in one season. Brugge are yet to announce a replacement for him, but are expected to do so shortly.
