India vs New Zealand 2nd T20I: Match Highlights

India defeated New Zealand by six wickets in the second game of the T20 series. The visitors opted to bat first but wickets started falling at regular intervals. All credit goes to the bowlers like Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar and Deepak Hooda.

Arshdeep Singh scalped two wickets for India and gave away only seven runs in two overs. From New Zealand, skipper Mitchell Santer was unbeaten at 19 off just 23 deliveries. From India, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya performed well under pressure to snatch the victory from the kiwis.

The former scored 26 runs in 31 balls whereas the captain piled up 15 runs in 20 balls. The men in blue were chasing 100 but were still unable to score good runs. India could have easily won but the top-order batter didn’t have a good time on the field. Ishan Kisan could score 19 off 32 deliveries, Shubman Gill’s score was 11 in 9 balls and Rahul Tripathy could notch up only 13 runs in 18 balls.

Three of them couldn’t take the spinners which put the team under pressure. Though India surpassed the 100-run mark, New Zealand’s bowling made the hosts very uncomfortable in achieving this low total. The bowling of both teams was strong and India reached 101 in 19.5 overs.

The third T20 will be held on February 1 in Ahmedabad which will produce the series winner.
