Arsenal are planning a surprise move for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. The French midfielder has found it hard for minutes to come by regularly, but is still considered a part of the project for the future by the powers that be at Santiago Bernabeu.
As per reports from the Evening Standard, he could make the move to the Premier League in the January transfer window itself. However, that would be on a loan until the end of the season.
Eduardo Camavinga on the radar of Arsenal for January
Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Aurelien Tchouameni have been the preferred option for Carlo Ancelotti in central areas. And Camavinga has struggled for form in several big matches as well, which has caused him to be left on the bench for several games.
While Dani Ceballos and Fede Valverde are available as other options in the squad, they aren’t being played regularly. Valverde is more often used as a right winger by Ancelotti than a central midfielder.
As a result, it will be interesting to see whether they will let the youngster go on a loan at this important stage of the season. They have a crunch tie in the Copa del Rey against Atletico Madrid, and also have a Champions League Round of 16 meeting with Liverpool. Real Madrid are also in second place behind Barcelona in the La Liga table, and will be aiming to reclaim their top spot.
Arsenal are also looking at West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice for the summer. However, until that move goes through, Eduardo Camavinga could be recruited as a short-term solution.
