According to tech researcher Jeff Pu, Apple’s next-generation iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max would include a titanium frame, solid-state buttons with haptic feedback, and higher RAM.

Pu presented his estimates for the iPhone 15 range in a research note for Hong Kong investment firm Haitong International Securities, claiming that it will comprise a 6.1-inch iPhone 15, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max. Notably, he anticipates that the Pro models would include a titanium frame as well as solid-state volume and power buttons with haptic feedback from two additional Taptic Engines. He also predicts 8GB of RAM in the Pro variants, up from 6GB in the iPhone 14 Pro models.

Leaker “ShrimpApplePro” and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, have already rumored all three of these capabilities for iPhone 15 Pro variants.

The iPhone 15 Pro models, according to Pu, would be powered by an A17 Bionic chip produced using TSMC’s 3nm process, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be equipped with the A16 Bionic chip and 6GB of RAM. According to him, all four versions will contain a USB-C port and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X70 modem for 5G and LTE.

Pu expects the telephoto lens of the iPhone 15 Pro Max to have periscope technology for greater optical zoom, as has been widely claimed. Pu anticipates a 48-megapixel rear camera lens on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, similar to the iPhone 14 Pro versions.

According to “recent supply chain checks and views on the tech industry,” Pu is concerned about the stock values of numerous companies in Apple’s supply chain. Pu believes Apple’s product momentum has “turned weak,” and he anticipates a year-over-year fall in iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, and AirPods shipments in 2023.

Pu’s track record in predicting Apple’s plans is mixed, but much of the information he revealed about iPhone 15 models was previously rumored. As is customary, Apple will unveil its iPhone 15 lineup in September.
