Cristiano Ronaldo has officially signed for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, with the deal valid until 2025. The veteran has accepted the most commercially valuable deal in the history of football, with an all inclusive salary of €200 million on the table.

The 37-year-old was without a club since prior to the start of the World Cup, after his controversial interview with Piers Morgan. Manchester United mutually terminated his contract after he said publicly that he did not have any respect for Erik Ten Hag, in an interview with Piers Morgan.

Other clubs that wanted to sign Cristiano Ronaldo

Kansas City were one of the other clubs trying to explore the opportunity to sign him. The MLS franchise held talks with the player before the interview with Piers Morgan, and once more afterwards. But, they were not able to reach an agreement with him over Al-Nassr.

According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the financial offer was almost at par with Al-Nassr. But in the end, Cristiano Ronaldo decided to sign for the Saudi Arabian side and try out a new experience outside of Europe.

He was previously linked with Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and even PSG. But, neither club had any concrete plans to recruit him. Eintracht Frankfurt were also one of the clubs to which he was offered, with their president publicly confirming the offer.

But, his time in Europe is now over and what could be the final chapter in his illustrious career is now beginning.
