Luis Suarez is set to finalise his next club, with the striker all set to join Gremio in Brazil. He has been a free agent for the last few months, after leaving Nacional. He won the league title with his boyhood club, after making a return following his time in Europe.
There were rumours that he could go to MLS, or join Saudi Arabian club Al-Khaleej. However, they have been informed that the veteran has already made a decision about his future – which will be in Brazil.
Luis Suarez to join Gremio as a free agent
The Uruguayan is set to sign a two-year contract with Gremio until 2024. Right now the final paperworks are being completed. And soon, his arrival will be made official by all parties involved.
Gremio were promoted from the Brazilian Serie B to Serie A last year. And they will be competing in the top flight with one of the most successful number 9s in the modern era. The 2023 season will start from April, which is when we will be able to see Luis Suarez in action for his new club.
The newly promoted side thought they had lost their transfer target to the MLS, but it turns out that he will be joining them after all.
