Arsenal have confirmed that Gabriel Jesus has undergone successful surgery for his knee injury. The striker went down in Brazil’s game against South Korea and upon initial examination, it was revealed that he would play no further part in their campaign.

Upon returning to London, the club decided that surgery was necessary to fix the issue. And he is now expected to be out of action for the next three months, as he attempts to recover fully.

Gabriel Jesus to miss next three months of action following surgery

The Brazilian was in fine form for the Gunners after his transfer from Manchester City. He has scored five goals and provided five assists in the Premier League, and has been very reliable up-front.

Although his goals dropped during the weeks leading up to the 2022 World Cup, he was still able to help the team. But now, Mikel Arteta will have to cope with his absence for three very important months of the season.

Arsenal are currently at the top of the Premier League table, and are five points clear of Manchester City in second place. They are one of the favourites to lift the title this season, but will have a huge challenge to face on the other side of the World Cup.

The absence of Gabriel Jesus will do them no favours, leaving Eddie Nketiah as the only natural striker in the line-up. The young Englishman will have to turn up in his teammate’s absence to ensure that their form doesn’t drop after the break.
