The Callisto Protocol has the potential to be a fantastic horror game, but it won’t be so until next year. The Callisto Protocol was released to mixed reviews by Striking Distance Studios and Krafton, with some criticising the game’s short length and replay value. Others have been disappointed with The Callisto Protocol’s performance, particularly in the PC edition. Future upgrades will undoubtedly address these issues and improve the game significantly.
The Callisto Protocol is a short game, which is frequent in the horror game genre. On average, it takes between six and ten hours to complete The Callisto Protocol, which isn’t a big concern except that the game lacks replay value. It remains to be seen whether the new content is any good, but The Callisto Protocol introducing New Game+ mode will help the game progress to the next level. Many of the game’s remaining technical concerns should be rectified by next year. Horror enthusiasts who can’t wait may want to read some Callisto Protocol reviews before purchasing, while others will be better off waiting for next year’s upgrades and possibly a price cut.
