Bangladeshi wicket-keeper Nurul Hasan accused Indian player Virat Kohli of “FAKE FIELDING” during India’s clash against Bangladesh on Wednesday. He added that the on-field empires had missed their incident of “fake fielding” from Virat that resulted in Bangladesh’s five-run loss.

This fake fielding cost them five runs, interestingly this was the margin by which India won the game. In that incident, Virat pretended to be relaying an Arshdeep throw from deep during the seventh over. The Bangladeshi players believe that the umpires Marais Erasmus and Chris Brown didn’t notice this.

“We have spoken about it. You have seen it in the TV and everything happened in front of you. There was one regarding fake throw and we have notified the umpires about the fake throw but he said he did not noticed it and that is the reason he did not take the review. Shakib discussed a lot about it with Erasmus and even spoke with him after game,” Jalal Yunus, BCB’s operation chairman said

“Secondly, Shakib had spoken about the wet field and he asked that he can take some more time and let the field get dried and start the game after the field is dried. But… the umpires’ decision is final and that is reason there was no place for an argument. There was only one decision whether you will play or not play,” he further added.

In the seventh over, opener Litton Das mustered 56 runs off 24 deliveries. Kohli was inside the ring and turned and delivered a fake throw to the non-striker’s end as the Bangladesh openers ran back to complete their second run and the ball was sent back to the wicket-keeper.

Kohli pretended to be relaying a deep throw from Arshdeep Singh. The two batters, Litton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto did not notice it, nor did the umpires Marais Erasmus and Chris Brown.

The ICC law 41.5, pertaining to unfair play, prohibits the “deliberate distraction, deception or obstruction of [the] batter”, and if an incident is declared to be a breach, the umpire can declare that delivery as a dead ball and the team batting at that time will be given five runs.

“A no-ball has been given. Marais Erasmus has indicated that the no-ball is for height. I think there’s been some disagreement. Shakib and Virat Kohli moving around for a long time, tried to laugh it off. Now Virat Kohli has said that was high and I think that is what Shakib did not like.”– Harsha Bhogle said

Bangladesh didn’t get back the free hit and Dinesh Karthik scores a single run from the full toss. The extra two runs had hurt their players during the run-chase.
