Sourav Ganguly will be back as the ATK Mohun Bagan Director
After his spell as the BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly was tipped to become the President of the CAB. However, the former India team skipper decided not to compete while his brother took over the top spot. Ahead of the mega Kolkata derby, Sourav Ganguly paid a visit to Mohun Bagan club.
3 years ago when Ganguly took over the helm of the BCCI, he had to do away with the post of the Director of the club as well as the shares of the club to avoid conflicts. Therefore, over this period of 3 years, Ganguly was involved in a minimal capacity with the Kolkata giants. Now that he is no longer in the BCCI, Ganguly has said that he will be back as the Director very soon.
“Long ago, I played for Mohun Bagan Club for over 9 yrs. I’ve many memories of the place. I’m happy to see the transformation of this club. I congratulate them for working to increase the facilities here. I’ll come back as Director here soon,” said Sourav Ganguly.
“I have been associated with the ISL from the very beginning. Earlier there was ATK and now there is ATK Mohun Bagan. During the reign of Antonio Habas I used to visit the stadium as I love watching the game. On 29th October I will be at the Stadium to watch the Derby,” he added. Sourav Ganguly will be present at the Stadium on 29th October to watch the Iconic Kolkata Derby between ATK Mohun Bagan vs East Bengal.
