Only months into the start of his career at Manchester City, Erling Haaland is already being linked with an exit. There has been a lot of speculation about the presence of a release clause in his contract. And rumours about a release clause specifically for Real Madrid have also been quite heated.
However, there exists no such special clause for the 14-time Champions League winners to sign Haaland. But there is a release clause in the striker’s contract which is valid for all clubs except those in the Premier League.
Erling Haaland release clause: All details known so far
The 22-year-old has been nothing short of sensational since joining the Sky Blues from Borussia Dortmund this summer. He has scored 20 goals across all competitions so far, and has already better three hat-tricks this season.
His new agent, Rafaela Pimenta, was quite cryptic about the presence of a release clause in the striker’s contract. “Release clause for Haaland? I can’t comment about that. He’s really top, top guy. His father is the secret,” the lawyer said.
Erling Haaland’s release clause is worth €200 million in the summer of 2024 for all clubs excluding Premier League sides. With every passing year, it is expected to go down in value. However, an agreement needs to be reached with the player in terms of sporting project and personal terms first.
