Redmi has officially confirmed the release of the Redmi Note 12 series. Additionally, it has been revealed that the Note 12 series will come with two of the world’s first technologies. The Chinese smartphone maker has shared a teaser poster on Weibo and has confirmed the release of the Redmi Note 12 series to be this month i.e. October.
The upcoming lineup is expected to include three models — the vanilla Note 12, Note 12 Pro, and Note 12 Pro+. The upcoming phones could be powered by the newly-launched MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC. The Note 12 series will succeed the Note 11 models that were unveiled back in 2021.
Redmi Note 12 series expected specifications
The Redmi Note 12 series has been doing rounds on the internet and is said to come with several upgrades. Starting with the display, the series will come with an AMOLED display with high refresh rate support. The Note 12 Pro+ and Note 12 Pro were previously spotted on the TENAA database. The listing suggested a 6.6-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate on the handsets.
The forthcoming Note 12 is tipped to be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus which should be an upgrade from the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 fitted on the Note 11. Under the hood, the Redmi Note 12 is said to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset versus the Note 11’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SM6225.
The recently launched chipset coupled with an ARM Mali-G68 GPU supports 200-megapixel main camera sensor. It has two ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores operating at a peak speed of 2.6GHz. All three models are said to be 5G-enabled handsets. There are scant details about the cameras of the phones but the Pro lineup may have a 50MP primary lens. And of course, some camera-centric features and modes are expected.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro is said to feature a 4,980mAh battery, whereas the Note 12 Pro+ is expected to pack a 4,300mAh battery. The Note 12, Note 12 Pro, and Note 12 Pro+ will have 67W, 120W, and 210W fast charging support, respectively. However we still don’t know the specifications of the upcoming smartphones. In addition to these three models, there could also be a fourth model called Redmi Note 12 Pro Ultra. No details about the phone have been revealed yet.
