Yesterday, reports emerged suggesting that both Kylian Mbappe and PSG sporting director Luis Campos wanted to leave the club. The 58-year-old has spoken out on the rumours, suggesting that it is not true.
The initial reports came from French newspaper Le Parisien just before the game against Benfica. Mbappe started the game and scored the penalty awarded in the 1-1 draw with the Portuguese side.
Luis Campos denies Kylian Mbappe exit rumours
“There are rumours every day,” Luis Campos told Canal+.
“I’m with Kylian every day, and he never spoke to me about a departure in January. Nor to the president.
“It’s not is not a statement from the player but information that I therefore come to deny: Kylian Mbappe never spoke to me about leaving PSG in January. We never talked about that. It’s very clear.”
“An impact on the locker room? No, they are experienced players. It’s not real news anyway, and it’s not going to disrupt the group.”
Regarding his own future, Campos added: “As for me, I have a three-year contract with PSG and I am very happy to be at this club.
“I work every day so that at the end of my contract PSG has something extraordinary in its CV “.
PSG also released a statement denying the validity of rumours suggesting Mbappe’s exit before the game. And now, it remains to be seen whether the player is genuinely frustrated with his situation or if the rumours from France are simply untrue.
